There are so many advantages to ticketing PTA events online, we thought it would be useful to publish a list of popular questions and answers compiled from conversations we have had with 100’s of PTA groups who have used the Ticket Tailor ‘Book a PTA Call’ service.

How much is Ticket Tailor online ticketing platform for PTA groups?

We believe that choice is good and we have two simple plans to suit PTAs.

  • PTA annual plan - unlimited events and unlimited ticket sales for 12 months. This costs £199/$299. We recommend the annual plan to any PTA that sell 800+ tickets in a year.

  • PTA pay as you go plan - pay just 25p/35c per ticket no matter how much your ticket price is. You can also choose to pass this fee on to ticket buyers if you prefer.

Are there any other costs to consider?

In order to process card payments online and get the funds into your PTA bank account, you will need to set up a PayPal and/or Stripe account. Both charge payment processing fees unfortunately.

Which is best, PayPal or Stripe?

Both are very secure and world renowned. However, for PTAs, we would recommend setting up a Stripe account. The processing fees are lower, they have a charity rate , it is easy to set up and they have a better checkout experience for the ticket buyer leading to more sales for you! Can we take offline payments using Ticket Tailor?

✔️ Yes. Some PTAs like to ticket their events online but want the option for cash, cheque or bank transfer payments. This is simple to set up in the Ticket Tailor dashboard. Offline payments are easily identified in the reporting area, as they show as payment ‘pending’. Once payment has been received, the pending status can be changed to complete.

Can I try test drive Ticket Tailor ?

✔️ Yes. We believe that seeing is believing. We offer your first 5 tickets sold free of charge, so you can see how easy it is to buy tickets for your event online. (Please note you will still be charged payment processing fees - this is out of our hands.) You are  automatically switched on to our regular Pay-as-you-go plan. To avail of our PTA PAYG exclusive pricing please email pta@tickettailor.com You can switch at any time to our PTA annual plan which is better value if you sell 800+ tickets p.a

Do we have to pay for free ticketed events?

Lots of PTAs, just like yours, use Ticket Tailor to ticket some events where there is no charge. Primarily to gauge attendance, predict catering requirements and promote sponsors in order to earn sponsorship funds. There is no cost to PTA groups for these ticket types. Also, because the tickets are free, there are no associated processing costs added by Stripe or PayPal. Free means free.

Can I use the Ticket Tailor online ticketing platform to attract event sponsors?

✔️ Yes, sponsors are very keen to being promoted online. Due to it’s customisable nature, Ticket Tailor offers several opportunities to do this making it very appealing to sponsors. Promote sponsors:

  • On the box office event detail itself by adding the sponsor’s narrative, logo and active web link.

  • Include the sponsor’s logo with link on every ticket purchased.

  • Use our Broadcast feature to promote your sponsor before and after your PTA event. You can even include the narrative, logo and web link.

Can I add my own images to the event detail?

✔️ Yes. When you create your event using the Ticket Tailor platform, the editor is very user friendly enabling you to add images, links and even video to your event detail making your event really stand out! Have you seen our article on finding free to use images online?

Can ticket buyers add a donation when buying their tickets?

✔️ Yes. Simply check the ‘Allow customers to make a donation’ box on your dashboard when creating your event. You can choose to add a suggested amount or leave it blank. I recommend leaving it blank allowing the person to donate what feels right for them. Some people may not like that a donation is assumed. Another tip is to promote your fundraising cause in the donation description. For example, ‘We are fundraising towards a new bike rack for KS2, this costs £799 to buy’. People are more emotionally invested and more likely to donate when the reason for donating is obvious.

Can I add sponsor links to the tickets purchased for an event?

✔️ Yes, you can easily edit the order confirmation to include your sponsor’s logo and active website link.

Can I duplicate an event?

✔️ Yes. Ticket Tailor is extremely user friendly and knows you are a busy person. We recommend setting up templates for your most common events. You can then either edit the original or duplicate and save it. Simples!
